Office Mezzanine Floor

Free-standing, steel warehouse structures

Maximise the potential of your office with a mezzanine floor

A mezzanine floor is a free-standing steel structure. Mezzanine floors can help you utilise empty space by creating an additional first or second floor above a specific area of your floor space (rather than above the entire floor). Mezzanine floors are ideal to increase the usable height of the available area, and can help you transform your commercial or industrial space.

Our experts can help you create a mezzanine floor that provides usable, workable and beneficial additional space for your organisation to expand – without needing to move from your current location. Our turnkey solution allows us to work with you through every stage of the process. We can work with you to design, supply and install bespoke mezzanine floors that will enhance productivity and could improve your bottom line.

All of our mezzanine floors comply with all health and safety requirements. We have successfully implemented mezzanine floors for a wide range of clients across the UK, including in Hertfordshire, London and the Home Counties.

Office mezzanine floors for industrial environments and warehouses

SEC Interiors is a fully compliant designer, supplier and installer of office mezzanine floors. We can provide mezzanines for use in corporate, commercial, industrial and public sector environments.

On a standard mezzanine floor, a chipboard flooring solution or similar is used to form the walkway; edge protection and handrails are then installed to finish. Additional accessories can also be installed depending on what the mezzanine is going to be used for.

Office mezzanine supply, design and installation services

As a leading designer and installer of office mezzanine floors in Hertfordshire, London and the Home Counties, SEC Interiors takes health and safety very seriously. That is why we operate as a fully accredited contractor, holding SafeContractor, CHAS and FIS accreditations, as well as Constructionline Certification.

During the initial design phase our technical team will be able to advise you on the necessary building regulations and health and safety legislation (including fire protection) you may need, ensuring that your new mezzanine floor adheres to all requirements.

It is also worth noting that SEC Interiors works only with industry-leading mezzanine floor suppliers; therefore you can rest assured that every aspect of your mezzanine floor will be designed to conform to BRE Digest 437 – issued by the Government.

Benefits of a mezzanine floor

Mezzanine floors can be used in a variety of industries because they can be built to handle different load capacities, depending on your requirements. They are a cost-effective and practical way to ensure you receive maximum value from your available space. The cost of building and installing a mezzanine floor is significantly cheaper than the price of purchasing new premises elsewhere. When designed and implemented correctly, mezzanine floors can double or even triple the floor space of your commercial or industrial facility, helping you to create new offices, additional workrooms or storage space.

Mezzanine floors are independent structures that are easy to assemble and can be designed to suit facilities of any shape or size. The free-standing and demountable nature of mezzanine floors means they can easily be relocated to new premises, but they are also built to last, making them a solid investment for the future.

The flexibility of mezzanine floors enables you to create a new floor space that truly suits your business processes and goals. With a mezzanine floor, you can use the entire downstairs area of your warehouse or office for day-to-day practical requirements of your company, while the upstairs can be used for administrative tasks or to provide staff somewhere to relax. Whether you need an office mezzanine space that gives your employees somewhere to eat or hold meetings, or you need a commercial mezzanine floor for storing products or testing new developments, we can create the perfect layout for your business.

As well as the design and installation of your mezzanine floor, we can help you with furniture, furnishings and partitions for your new space. Get in contact with a mezzanine floor specialist on 01438 731990 or fill in this contact form if you would like a callback.

Find the right mezzanine floor for you

Overview / Benefits

Industrial mezzanine flooring is an excellent solution for maximising your workspace when floor space is at a premium. The relatively quick installation of industrial mezzanine floors is ideal to prevent undue disruption to workflows and employees. Mezzanine floors can be particularly useful for the industrial sector because of the variety of finishing options available, including non-slip as well as other basic but practical coatings.

An industrial mezzanine floor can be used for workshops, production lines and heavy-duty spaces to fulfil technical requirements. Industrial warehouses often use their vertical space for storage and racking systems, and mezzanine floors can help improve access to these difficult to reach areas. Industrial mezzanine floors are an economical way to increase workspace without paying for any additional floor space.

Overview / Benefits

Mezzanine floors in a warehouse can be an intelligent use of space because they can create entirely separate environments from the ground floor. Office mezzanine floors can make full use of your facility’s current space, and increase working space for administration, management or internal operational staff.

Unlike standard offices, office mezzanine floors are typically more multi-purpose. They can be used to create access points between office environments and technical production areas, simply as office space, or as a mixture of office and storage space. We can design and create an office mezzanine to suit your needs, whether that involves simple dividers, or shelving and storage systems.

Franke Coffee Systems (UK)

The fit-out of the office areas included the installation of carpets, partitioning systems, a kitchen tea-point, lighting and suspended ceilings. SEC installed vinyl flooring to the training rooms beneath the mezzanine, and the rooms were fitted with all necessary power outlets ready for the move-in of Franke’s machinery.  A raised access floor at a height of 500mm was
installed in a specified area under the mezzanine to form a platform for the product showroom. The showroom was then fitted with ceramic effect flooring, stylish kitchen units and ambient spotlighting, set to showcase our client’s range of coffee machines.

Axalta Coating Systems (UK) Limited

The office fit-out project carried out at Axalta Coating Systems (UK) Ltd included a 140 metre squared break-out area, multiple training rooms and administrative offices to accommodate all liquid coating businesses.

The extensive project involved the construction of two mezzanine floors above the meet and greet area and in the plant area to house the Air Conditioning units.

Adapt UK Ltd

Adapt has over 50 years of collective experience in designing, manufacturing, selling and supplying products into the office furniture industry, with a strong focus on ergonomics. The company offers a varied product range, including bespoke design services.  Adapt UK Ltd, having recently acquired a new mixed-use facility in Milton Keynes, were looking to refurbish two floors of office space, with the outlook of connecting the existing, first-floor office space to the factory and production environment below on the ground floor.

To do this, SEC found that the best solution would be to install an office mezzanine floor, in turn, creating an interconnected walkthrough between the production and office areas with an access staircase to the factory floor below.
