First installations replaced existing old partition and enclosure systems which could not meet GMP and quality pharmaceutical standards. Various designs of double skin steel panel systems were developed, with gasket and flush glazed vision panels and service access ways. A standard design capable of meeting the requirements of clean room classifications from Class 100 to Class 100,000 with fast, modular build features had been established so that all areas were interchangeable.
High quality, sealed steel ceiling panels were fitted at a consistent height so that individual walls, doors or glazed panels could be relocated without major building delays. Installation work had been carried out frequently over the last 10 years in many areas and features such as automatic powered sliding doors, stainless steel buffer rails, inset base track to accept coved flooring, coved wall and ceiling abutments had been incorporated into the standard system.
Areas supplied by The Clean Room Company included tablet manufacture, creams manufacture, film coating areas, inspection, laboratory, blending and washing areas. Offices, packing lines, sampling bays and dispensing areas had also been installed and the same system was used for high grade eye drop and injectable product areas.
