Saddlery Brands International had acquired a new 10,000 sq/ft warehouse based in Brackley, Northamptonshire, and were in need of a storage solution that would be in place for the end of 2018, ready for the move-in of their products. “We contacted SEC Storage at the beginning of November, with an urgent requirement to fit-out our new warehouse in as short a time as possible… but preferably, by the end of 2018,” commented, Michele Skala, Chief Financial Officer at Saddlery Brands International.

In order to deliver this installation to such tight time constraints, SEC made intelligent use of our supply chain, calling upon a key supplier for the acquisition of suitable product, ready to be installed to the site within a 6-week time frame. Due to the nature of our client’s product: a combination of saddle racks, mount racks, and general equine-based SKUs (stock keeping units), SEC found that a combination of longspan and adjustable shelving would work as the best solution, maximising the available floor space whilst creating a flexible setup for our client.

The longspan shelving bays – complete with chipboard decking – can support up to 450kgs of product. All in all, these new shelving systems allow for a wide mix of SKUs to be stored, providing Saddlery Brands International with a high degree of flexibility in how – and where – they store their products.

Once the quote was agreed and the subsequent site surveys conducted, our Installations Team began work on-site during the busy December period, working on the installation up until the day of Saddlery Brands International stock delivery. “The whole process – from start to finish – was as smooth as could be. Once the order was signed off, SEC’s on-site team worked tirelessly to get the project completed before the arrival of our new stock,” comments, Michele.

Our fast and efficient approach, coupled with complete client confidence resulted in a storage solution that was delivered on time and to great reception. The fit-out of this Brackley-based warehouse also acts as a perfect example of how SEC functions as a business: we give our all to ensure our clients’ are receiving the best possible service, and in this particular instance, we were able to go one further by delivering the installation against the odds!
