SEC Storage have created a Ratio Test, a simple and quick method of identifying whether the pick-faces in your warehouse are too large. Using a few simple metrics, we can calculate a ratio that shows how well-balanced replenishment frequency and travel distances are within your warehouse.

To help explain how it works a bit further, we’ve created a short video explainer that should give you everything you need to know.

What does your score mean?

50% or more

If your score is 50% or more then your pick-faces might be too small

25-50%

If your score is 25-50% your pick-faces are probably right-sized

12.5-25%

If your score is 12.5-25% then your pick-faces are probably too big

12.5%

If your score is 12.5% then your pick-faces are very likely to be too big
